Quip (Hippocamp, I Can Count Music, STFU - UK)
Quip is the alias of Ben Eyes a 28 year old male from Leeds. Stimulated by both electronic and acoustic sounds, his music is created using field recordings, circuit bent synths and toys, a collection of guitars and modular software.
Having avoided the shackles of real world Labels, Ben’s involvement in netlabels started when he performed at Hippocamps’ night in Manchester. This resulted in a release for the Labels 05 Summer Compilation and a regular slot at the night. Always pushing the boundaries of electronic live performance he has played at parties, squat raves and woodland glades all round the UK. Which could be defined as melodic electronica fused with influences from ambient and IDM.
